Ready for CBD? Here are some things to know

So you’ve heard all of the hype around CBD, and you know there are some benefits for better health. Great! You’re definitely ahead of the crowd. CBD is awesome for wellness care, and as a cancer survivor and former athlete with multiple injuries, my body is not like it used to be. Some days the struggle is real! Sometimes I need a natural health remedy to relieve the pain. I rely on my Greenhouse Bliss CBD oil drops and soft gel capsules to provide various forms of relief.

I also suffer time to time from insomnia. As a small business owner and single mom – stress comes with the role. I’m carrying a lot, and like you, I have a ton of responsibilities. I’m not afraid to say that anxiety hits from time to time, and I use my flavored oils or capsules to ease my mind, get relief from pain, or just to get a good nights rest. Greenhouse Bliss products are pure, tested and safe, and I’ve experienced the benefits first hand. BUT- this knowledge did not come overnight. Like you, I had to do my research, and learn a bit about Hemp versus Marijuana. I studied CBD and its effect. Let me share a few things that I learned.

What is Hemp?

Hemp is often misunderstood due to its association with marijuana, but they are grown in two entirely different ways. Hemp includes varieties of the Cannabis plant species that are grown for industrial use. Hemp has low levels of THC and high levels of CBD, so unlike marijuana, it does not get you “high” since it is non-psychoactive.

Hemp seeds can be used in dietary products. They can also be pressed and made into oil. Hemp’s bast fiber, when harvested correctly, can be very strong. The stalk and its fiber can be used in clothing, construction materials, paper, bags, rope etc. Also important to note – buying hemp products that are in their final form, is completely legal. CBD oil from industrial hemp plants that contain trace amounts of THC, is legal in the US.

Are Hemp and Marijuana the Same?

Nope! They are just both part of the cannabis plant. Hemp is completely different from marijuana in its cultivation, function, and application. They also serve different purposes. Marijuana, as it is widely known, is used for medicinal or recreational purposes. Hemp is used in a variety of other applications that marijuana cannot be used in. These include wellness products, health and dietary supplements, skincare products, clothing, and accessories, to name a few. Amazingly, hemp is known to have thousands upon thousands of uses and applications.

What is CBD?

CBD (Cannabidiol) is a chemical compound that comes from the hemp plant. CBD is extracted and separated from specific varieties of cannabis. Cannabinoids, which can be either consumed (phytocannabinoids) or produced naturally by the body (endocannabinoid), are chemical compounds that interact with the body’s central regulatory system.

CBD is an example of a phytocannabinoid. Phytocannabinoids are known to help jumpstart our central regulatory system. Most legal CBD products that you find on the market will be extracts from hemp, as federal law allows for the cultivation, processing and selling of hemp and hemp products. However, you must still be careful while buying CBD products today. The CBD market is still largely unregulated, and CBD oils etc. are not reviewed by the FDA like other products. Unless you’re buying from a company like Greenhouse Bliss, it’s important to do some research before making your purchase.

So I hope this information was helpful as you continue your CBD journey. Just remember – select CBD oils stand out for their purity and potency. Flavor is always a bonus. In order to live a healthy life, you need to have a balanced life. Balanced in family, work, and fun. Oh, and don’t forget the exercise, diet, and healthy supplements. CBD may be the missing piece to complete your balance. You should expect the highest standards in CBD supplements so don’t settle for less. Checkout Greenhouse Bliss products and enjoy good health.
